What We Build - Manufacturing Facilities

Manufacturing Facilities

When you build manufacturing facilities, you must be concerned with the critical needs regarding product flow, shipping and receiving access, work-in-progress, storage, equipment, utility requirements and more. The hundreds of details that are essential to the long-term success of your investment must be dealt with up front, well before you start building.

When you work with experts who have experience and foresight, and who use proven technology and sound engineering design principles in the planning process, your building will meet your demands both now and in the future. Nailing the details means anticipating and filling such needs as:

  • Appropriate zoning for intend use
  • Local building, engineering and fire department and other regulatory permit acquisition
  • Public utility capacities and proximity
  • Vehicle maneuverability and dock access
  • Local code implications on design
  • Exterior storage restriction
  • Equipment screening

Magnetic Inspection Laboratory Expansion

Owner: Magnetic Inspection Laboratory

ICA provided design-build construction services for this 22,000 S.F. building addition.  The new space will house MIL's plating operation.  ICA completed this addition while MIL's manufacturing operation continued to provide product for their customers.  MIL provides non-destructive testing services to the Aerospace,
Medical, Industrial and Power Generation industries.

SWD, Inc.

Owner: SWD, Inc.

Approximately half of this 105,000 S.F. facility houses the owner's metal fastener finishing and sorting operations, distribution functions and corporate offices. The remainder of the building is leased by the owner's tenants. The building envelope is constructed of 30' high multi-tone stained pre cast wall panels, tinted storefront and curtain wall glazing systems. Production area employee locker rooms and break areas are located on the second floor above the administrative office areas. The two story entrance vestibule includes vaulted drywall ceilings and provides a central access point for the owner's operation and the other building occupants.

Long Grove Confectionery

Owner: Long Grove Confectionery

This 60,000 square foot addition to the existing facility contains Long Grove Confectionery's corporate offices, food production operations and warehouse storage. The addition perimeter is constructed of stained pre cast panels, curtain wall glazing at the two main entrances and split faced block to fill in the gap between the different roof elevations. The two story main entrance lobby, with its stained glass dome and brick wall finish, is the starting point for planned tours through the facility. The tours will move to a media room and continue through the building with views of the various chocolate production rooms. These rooms were designed to meet codes for food production and at the same time provide an aesthetically pleasing view for the tours. The corporate offices are located on the second floor mezzanine which is constructed of pre cast floor panels providing a fire rated separation between the first floor food production rooms and the office areas.
